Flamin' Hot Cheetos Mountain Dew is a limited-time flavor of Mountain Dew that combines the sweet citrus DEW with the spicy flavor of Flamin' Hot Cheetos. Indeed, Mountain Dew would likely not be as synonymous with gaming as it is now if it wasn’t for the original Mountain Dew Game Fuel paving the way. In addition to the new soda, Mountain Dew has partnered with Broken Promises, a contemporary clothing brand, to create a Flamin’ Hot-inspired apparel collection. Game Fuel was so successful that Mountain Dew eventually created a separate line of products specifically tailored for gamers using the “Game Fuel” brand. PepsiCo’s been trying to capitalize on the success of the Flamin’ Hot Cheeto for quite some timesee: Flamin Hot Rold Gold, Ruffles, and Smartfood. Halo 3’s marketing campaign even has its own Wikipedia article, and Mountain Dew Game Fuel was a part of that campaign. Mountain Dew took the trend to absurd new heights last week, teaming up with Cheetos (both are owned by PepsiCo) to create a Flamin’ Hot limited edition of its soda. The “Believe” commercial campaign cost $10 million to produce and still wets the eyes of gamers to this day.
